White Nelumbo

White Nelumbo

Project: Scent of Asia by Scent District Jatujak Market in November 2025

“Delicate breath of Thailand’s true spirit”

“White Nelumbo” began with my desire to create a fragrance that reflects the identity of Thailand and Thai people—beyond the richness of Thai art and culture alone. I wanted to capture something deeper, a truth embedded in the DNA of Thai identity, passed down from generation to generation. Something so innate that even many Thais themselves may not realize it runs within their veins.

Nelumbo is the scientific name for the sacred lotus (Nelumbo nucifera), its root derived from the Sinhalese word nelum—one of the ancient linguistic origins and cultural foundations of Asia.

“White Nelumbo” is not merely a scent crafted to evoke Asia. It is a symbol that reflects the spirit of being Thai and of Thailand itself, in many dimensions. The white lotus is not only a flower used in rituals or traditional arts.

For me, it carries a far deeper meaning…

The pure and graceful white lotus embraces and supports blossoms of many other vibrant colors. When gathered together, they form a bouquet that is both beautiful and unique—just like Thailand: a land where people are open-hearted, ready to welcome diversity from every corner of the world. No matter your race, gender, or origin, Thai people will always greet you with warmth and a genuine smile. With gentleness, humility, simplicity, and respect, it is in our nature to honor those around us.

No matter how much time passes, or how modern Thailand becomes, this spirit remains deeply rooted—an unshakable identity carried through generations. And this is why anyone who comes to Thailand will leave with lasting impressions, feeling as though they have found a second home.
